The Story
On a daily basis, I write a new composition. My studio shelves are filled with piles of sheet music I’ve written over the years. These pages represent the process of my mind creating jazz harmony, melody movement, new ideas for composition and musical colors.
5 years ago, I wrote this tune, just two weeks after meeting my wife to be. It is a reflection of the way I felt during that time. It was a powerful moment in time and was the foundation for the life I live today. I gave the song to Krystal as a gift and never looked back.
As I was beginning to go through the piles of my creative process, my wife said something like, ‘I have a song you wrote.’ I had not thought about the romantic ballad since the moment I gifted it. When she played it for me again, I realized I captured the moment I’d fallen in love, exactly as I remembered it.
Love is bigger than my wife or I. It is everywhere, all around us and I wanted to share my interpretation of love with all of you. I wrote this song in Polish, my native language, because I was able to translate the emotion I experienced most accurately. To receive the song is a feeling. Understanding the words is secondary. For those who are curious, ‘chce bye blisko means ‘I want to be close to you’.
